»KEEP CALM, ENJOY ART«

Installation, bike, LED wheel light, 4K video, silent 4 min 50sec.

In the one single take video, Yamashita rides a bike illuminating handwritten words “KEEP CALM, ENJOY ART” by the LED wheel lights attached on the bicycle.
By her keeping pedaling, the message becomes visible by the afterimage effect. The words is based on the British propaganda poster “KEEP CALM and CARRY ON” produced by British government during World War II which became known for its parodies boomed over the world some years ago.
Artists created the piece promptly as a response to the world tensions at that time (including Japanese art scene).
